Travel to interesting places, meet brilliant scientists, and help them solve problems using our ultrafast laser systems! Light Conversion is growing, and looking for a physicist/engineer to join our Technical Sales & Service Team, responsible for supporting the client relationship from initial contact to product EOL for ultrafast solid-state lasers, and OPA systems.  This position will be in support of senior service engineers and account managers.

Primary responsibilities are technical sales support (putting together quotes, optical layouts, and other technical documents), and technical service and support.  Additional responsibilities include tradeshow support and occasional customer visits, as well as “health checks” and other diagnostic work in our service facility.

A background in physics/optics with at least a BS degree is required, with a strong preference for candidates with several years of laboratory experience.  Customer facing foodservice experience strongly preferred.  Candidate should demonstrate knowledge of pulsed solid-state lasers and non-linear optics.  Key fields include ultrafast laser-material interaction, parametric processes, and non-linear spectroscopy.

Successful candidate will have strong communication skills (written and verbal), high attention to detail, excellent problem solving, and a passion for finding solutions and helping customers understand and effectively reach solution.

The position requires occasional domestic travel (a few times per year), with the possibility of visiting our headquarters in Lithuania once a year for training.
