Technical Sales Representative
AdvR, Inc., located in Bozeman, MT, designs, fabricates, and characterizes nonlinear optical waveguide-based components in a variety of substrates including lithium niobate and KTP. Our devices serve a variety of industries including remote sensing and quantum information science. We are seeking a full-time Technical Sales Representative to support growing sales to a variety of customers including university researchers, OEMs, prime contractors, and National Labs. This person will work directly with senior sales personnel to respond to sales opportunities as they arise. Sales are generally highly technical in nature, and they will be supported by senior sales personnel and the technical team. Some domestic and internation travel to trade-shows and conferences may be required.
Responsibilities include:
• Communicating and managing relationships with potential and existing customers to support product sales
• Generating quotations for standard and custom components
• Order acceptance and hand-off to production team
• Review of purchase terms and conditions, and ensuring compliance with AdvR policy
• Performing initial troubleshooting with customers, as required.
• Contributing to marketing material such as newsletters and press releases.
• Collaborating with senior sales personnel on upcoming and emerging opportunities.
• When appropriate, involving the technical team in sales processes to address technical questions.
Required Qualifications:
• US Citizen
• BS or higher in a technical area (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, etc)
• Strong interest in technical sales
• Basic knowledge of optic and photonics components
• Demonstrated competency in Microsoft suite (excel, ppt, word, Outlook)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
• 2+ years in a technical sales environment
• 2+ years experience working with optical components, including EOMs and frequency conversion devices
• Knowledge of CRM software
