Job Summary
Wavelength Electronics designs and manufactures precision electronics for critical Laser Systems. Our drivers are used in challenging applications like surgery, medical tests, dangerous chemical detectors, climate research – and other technology that significantly improves lives. What we do matters in the world.

We’re looking for a person who wants to learn to build precision electronics using the machines on one of the Surface Mount (SMT) production lines. This includes setup, operation, troubleshooting, and light maintenance & troubleshooting of three machines: solder stencil printer, pick-and-place machine, and reflow oven. This equipment enables us to successfully solder electronics parts smaller than a flake of pepper. This job is perfect for someone who is mechanically inclined, pays close attention to details, loves computers, takes initiative, and enjoys building things right. We will train the right person. We have a 30/60/90 day onboarding plan that insures success.

Hours are flexible, Monday through Friday, at our automated, clean manufacturing facility. Benefits include competitive wages, paid health insurance premiums (100% for employees and dependents), HSA contribution, 401k, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, and an excellent working environment.

The team you’d be joining is well trained, takes pride in their work, and comes to work with a smile. Individuals have autonomy over their work with support for questions and brainstorming from senior members of the team. This role is an opportunity to gain high-tech, hands-on skills in a friendly, respectful environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
This position has several core responsibilities performed under minimal supervision once trained:

* Operate the SMT machines – stencil printer, pick-and-place machine, reflow oven – to accurately build our precision electronics.
* Program new builds using standard protocols and spreadsheets.
* Inspect loaded circuit boards for soldering defects, component placement accuracy, and overall quality.
* Troubleshoot & maintain machines with support from the manufacturing engineers.

Education & Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent. A technical certificate in electronics or a related field is preferred.
* Solid computer skills for data entry, machine programming, and troubleshooting
* Knowledge of hand soldering and solder rework equipment a plus
* Knowledge of IPC standards a plus

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to be on your feet a lot of the day, moving between machines, work benches, and desk.
* Manual dexterity to handle small electronic components
* Good vision or corrected vision to see small details.

You’ll love working at Wavelength if you are…
* Mechanically inclined: You love to build things with your hands and operate precision machinery.
* Precise: You have good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination.
* Detail Oriented: You’re observant, thorough, and self-check.
* Curious: When the machines do something unexpected, you discover root cause and fix it.
* Proactive: You are organized and think ahead to keep production flowing.
* Dependable: You love being part of a high performing team.
* Personable: You are professional with both written and verbal communication. You are positive, sociable and earn the trust of the team.
* Playful: You have fun while working hard. We laugh and celebrate wins as a team.
