Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Cable Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble, test, and troubleshoot coaxial cable assemblies critical to quantum computing applications. You’ll work with cutting-edge materials and precision tools in a collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact our product quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
– Assemble coaxial cables and components according to technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
– Perform precision soldering, crimping, stripping, and connector installation on coaxial cables.
– Conduct quality control checks using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and testing equipment (e.g., network analyzers, TDR).
– Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues to ensure cables meet strict performance standards for quantum computing environments (e.g., low signal loss, high-frequency performance).
– Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety and ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols.
– Collaborate with engineers to provide feedback on assembly processes and suggest improvements.
– Document assembly procedures and test results for traceability and process optimization.
– Assist in maintaining inventory of raw materials, connectors, and tools.
Qualifications
– High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
– 3+ years of experience in cable assembly manufacturing or similar hands-on role (coaxial cable experience preferred but not required).
– Familiarity with reading technical drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
– Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, crimpers) and soldering techniques.
– Exceptional fine motor skills and precision for working with small, fragile assemblies
– Experience with RF testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) is a bonus.
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a small, agile team.
– Interest in emerging technologies like quantum computing is a plus—no prior knowledge required, just curiosity!
