Processing Engineer

AdvR, located in Bozeman, MT, designs, fabricates, and characterizes optical waveguide-based components in a variety of nonlinear substrates including lithium niobate and KTP. Our devices serve multiple industries including defense sensing and quantum information science. At AdvR, we perform a significant mix of R&D and production work to support our customers. Much of that work requires development and implementation of microfabrication processes using deposition, patterning, and etching tools available both in-house and at local user facilities. We are looking to add to the processing team to support these tasks.
Responsibilities:
•	Optical waveguide fabrication
•	Microfabrication process development, optimization, and implementation
•	Chemical processing, potentially to include buffered oxide etching and hydrofluoric acid
•	Communication of processing issues and opportunities to the rest of the team
Requirements:
•	US Citizen
•	BS or higher in a technical degree (ie engineering, physics, chemistry)
•	Basic knowledge of lithographic processes including photoresist application, patterning, and development.
•	Basic knowledge of deposition techniques including e-beam deposition and magnetron sputtering.
•	Basic knowledge of electro-plating processes
•	Basic knowledge of chemical processing, including HF etching.
•	Basic knowledge of dry-etch processes, including ICP-RIE and IBE.
•	Ability to effectively communicate to others on the fabrication team
•	Self-starter with high attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
•	2+ years in a microfabrication environment
•	Advanced knowledge of process development related to contact photolithography, deposition, dry-etching, and electroplating.
•	2+ years experience working with and/or fabricating optical waveguides or similar
•	Demonstrated experience with RF electrodes and packaging
